Matthew 24:6-13
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

What does it mean to prepare for the tribulation?
If you're reading this, the tribulation is nigh, or you may be in the midst of it. Several biblical texts designate this time as one of great turmoil as the world's iniquity (sin) rises to its height and world structures begin to crumble rapidly.
Yah (God) provided a great deal of information in the Holy Book to support the notion that this will come. Many have speculated at various times that the tribulation had already begun, but there are very specific events in these descriptions that have not occurred in any time period past. Some pieces of these mentions have occurred, but we have not seen this moment come to fruition in its fullness.
Preparing for the tribulation is much more than buying extra canned goods and supplies for the house. It means being prepared spiritually for what will become a time that challenges your ability to stay steadfast in the conviction that Yahusha is the true King. There will be false messiahs to trick the masses into going in the wrong direction.
Why is the tribulation happening?
The tribulation is a moment in time designated in the Bible when the world will experience the culmination of judgment on the nations. There are two elements to judgment.
1) The actions of man produce their own form of judgment. Yah gives us free will to choose our path, but some paths lead to darkness. He provides ample warnings via The Holy Book and via messages in our path. When we choose the wrong direction, those consequences produce negative outcomes, which he allows us to experience.
2) As our father, just as a parent to a child, Yahuah must punish his children when they become out of line. Our purpose is to live within the confines of the rules (the law). Just as there are laws in society to keep us all safe, there are laws provided by Yah to keep order and beauty in the world. When we do not follow the law, we get a spiritual spanking or punishment to get us back in order. These are provided in love rather than hate and given to allow us a chance to choose the right path and be corrected.
Tribulation is a part of God's plan to teach his children and return the world to its proper state. Tribulation is one of many projects noted in the bible that will help get the world back to its natural state of perfection after the fall of man.
How can you prepare for tribulation?
Preparation is spiritual. Here are a few items on the list:
Put Yah first. This means anything you do that takes up so much time that you don't have time to pray or read your word is being put above Yahuah. Make time for prayer, for worship, and reading. If you watch TV, stop. You don't need it. If you scroll social media for hours per day, trade that habit with reading your bible. If that sounds insane to you, check your priorities. Some people have libraries full of books but have never once read a full chapter of the Bible.
Read your entire bible. If you haven't read the bible cover to cover, now is the time to start. The truth is inside the entirety of the book and involves putting the stories together and understanding the big picture. We become gullible and easily tricked when we don't know what's in the book. You can finish the Bible by reading several chapters daily, and partnering that with audio bibles to listen while driving, working, exercising, and cooking.
Humble yourself and repent. There are many who believe that repentance isn't required because the Blood of Christ redeemed them. This is a half-truth. Yes he redeemed us. But it requires you to commit your soul to him by repenting. Even Mary had to repent and be redeemed for her sins because we are all born with a sin-nature due to the original sin in Genesis. It's not until we receive our new bodies that we are able to skip this step.
Learn to hear Yah's voice. The Father is always speaking. Some of us learn to hear his voice in dreams, others feel the presence and move accordingly. At this time, in the manifestations of all that is occurring, it is possible to hear the Father's voice as a whisper-like telepathic voice. Yes, it sounds a bit science fiction, but we are in a dispensation where he is pouring out his spirit and we will dream dreams and prophecy in his name. This is a time where it is very possible for the average person to hear the voice of Yah and write words directly from heaven.
Dedicate yourself by giving something up. Some call it a Daniel Fast, but giving up something your flesh wants is the best way to begin connecting spiritually with The Father and receiving his blessings. You may choose to go a week without meat, or skip breakfast, or deny yourself caffeine for a time. Replace those desires with prayer and repentance to reconnect with your creator.
All of these actions, as well as knowing what is coming, will help you prepare. The tribulation will not take you by surprise because you know what is prophecied and will be ready when Yahuah comes.
